Week 101: Well.... Really slow internet, so I don't know if the pictures will work...

Well, it looks like they loaded so we will assume that it worked. But, the pictures are of divisions, we found a TINY bathroom in Matias Romero that is basically for Nursery. But it was funny so we took a picture. We also ate pizza. The other fun thing we did was go to Comitancillo. It is a little tiny brach like an hour away that is part of our area to help them get ready for a missionary activity! It was really fun and went really well! We only had like 7 show up but that is the whole Relief Society! They also gave us a reference so that is good!!!

Anyway, this week was good! We have been trying to find new people but has been a bit difficult. We have a few investigators progressing, but I want to leave this area a lot better than I found it so I am gonna keep pushing till the end!

Well, I don't have much more to say cuz I'll be able to say it in person soon... Lol, well see Y'all soon!

Week 100: Lots of Pictures....

Well... Lots of stuff to say, but I really don't know where to start or what exactly to say.... First pictures... Because I found my USB's!!! Talk about answered prayers. Anyways...

Baptism of Miguel!!! I got to baptize him and we had a lot of fun!

Super district of 12 missionaries. Literally half of our zone are in one district now. Because of something called special transfers.

Iguana.... Well it says in the Book Of Mormon to preach to every creature.

And well that is me being the most AMERICAN I can be in Mexico. Sitting in an American flag hammock, wearing a bald eagle tie and a captain America jacket. But it was super hot so I took off the jacket immediately.

So with the USB's, I was trying to find them for like 2 weeks straight and I literally tore everything apart and put it back together. And so after a lot of prayers, we had gone to church and there I grabbed my bag and felt this weird lump. So I take everything out of my bag and I find my USB's and that made me very happy because I have a lot of stuff that I mean isn't necessary, but I definitely want it. So I was very pleased yesterday.

But I have been trying to get better recently at using my time wisely, especially my studies, and so I'll tell y'all how that goes next week!!!

Week 99: Brownies gone bad, baptisms gone well, and LOTS of missionaries moving houses....

Well, so we had a decently packed week! It was fun, but I can't find my adaptor... So Y'all will have to wait till next week for the pictures. But first is that there have been quite a few missionaries that have been trying to change their houses for some reason or another, and so we had to go first check out the houses and make sure they were suitable for missionaries, and then today we helped some sisters actually change houses, which was fun just to get everything and pack it up, and then move it and then help them get a bit situated. But we have also been able to have fun this week!

We made brownies with a member of the bishopric... But it was funny because the oven at the church doesn't work very well so it burned the edges and then the middle was like a lava cake so it was funny. BUT! It tasted really good.

Anyways, on a more spiritual level, we had a baptism!!! Sorry, no pics... But Miguel is a nephew of Guadalupe, who got baptized like a month ago. It was really spiritual and she shared her testimony and it was a really moving experience. While there were not a ton of people, I know that they are progressing a lot, and even with trials, everyone can blossom! I know that when we are going through hard times, if we stay true to our Savior, He will help us and we will overcome any and everything that comes our way. So, I Hope that Y'all have a great time! Week 98: Another EARTHQUAKE!!!

Well, I am kinda done with the whole earth shaking thing... My first area is a bit destroyed, but not completely. The good thing is I talked to some members and everyone there is ok.

Well besides that, this week was fun. My comp went to Oaxaca to go to the temple, and pres told me I can do it one time before I go home!!! So I'll probably go in like 2 or 3 weeks and tell my converts from Rio Grande and maybe a couple other places to come too! Pres told me that I had permission to set something up with my converts to make sure they were there with me so that will be SUPER FUN!!!

Anyways, while my comp was in Oaxaca, I was with a new Elder who got here 2 weeks ago, and well that was when the earthquake happened, Fun! But we had a lot of good lessons and contacts. Found a really prepared new person to teach that has a lot of potential. We had a lot of random things going on this week, like zone conferences and so this week should be calmer. Also, that reminds me. There is a movie that came out from Disney called "Coco" and in Mexico, the missionaries got permission to see it, because of the Mexican culture that shows up in the movie. We saw it in the zone conference and it was AWESOME! I liked it a lot. It was very true to the culture that I have seen here in Oaxaca so that made it nice.

Week 97: YO SOY BATMANNNNN!

Well, I got sick again... But this time it is just a small throat thing... I am now speaking like batman... It was very interesting to give a 15-minute talk yesterday at church... So that was fun, but it all worked out.

But this week was a good week. I have learned that we need to make sure our area is an example for the others. We talked about that in the leadership meeting that we had this last week. And so we had to go to Oaxaca on Wednesday, which was fun! I also did exchanges with some other elders in the zone because they were having some troubles but we got it worked out and so we are hoping that it stays good!

Well, that was basically the whole week, it went by kinda fast so I hope that this next week I can get a lot more done in my area! But I'll actually be here this week so that will be good!

Week 96: Lots of pictures!

So, this week has been packed, and this next week will be as well! We have to give away half of our area, and so we are a bit sad, but that is good because it means that there are more missionaries and each ward will have their own missionaries. But it was hard finding a house, but we found one and now we just need to sign the contract and it will be fine and dandy. But we also had 2 baptisms!!! So Let me talk about the pics first....

One is of our district! We will be having changes tomorrow so it will change (I know it is my last transfer, don't remind me)
2 are of the Baptism!!! Jesus (the little kid) and Guadalupe (his mom) got baptized!! It was amazing! Plus they got baptized super quick! Literally one month ago we found them and they went to church for the first time. I know that God has been preparing them and also that God has a huge plan for them that they are now beginning to understand! :)

2 are of hamburgers we ate to celebrate the baptism!! (Also Elder Verkler came down because he was doing divisions close by and so he stopped in for the baptism! And we went and ate some HUGE hamburgers afterwards.
The rest are of a family home evening!!! We made pizza with some recent converts who had stopped going to church for a while, and they TOTALLY went back on Sunday!

Also, Guadalupe and Jesus got confirmed! And we are a bit sad because they are in the ward that we are losing but it is cool because the church is true and they have a lot of work in their area.

Week 95: I GOT SHOT! Well... Better put shots...

Well I got super sick last week. That was fun. NOT. I felt like I was just completely dying for a LONG time. Ok, not that long, and actually the week went by really quick... But, I only have 7 weeks before I go home... Wow... That is SUPER weird. I just won't think about that.

Anyways, because I was sick I really don't have any pictures, so that is sad... But we did do some divisions and even though I was sick I still worked in my area as much as I could!

Sadly though, President called on Wednesday and told us we had to find a house for some sister missionaries that are going to be taking over one of the two wards we are covering. I am kinda sad about that because they get the ward where more of our progressing investigators are.... But that is ok, I know that God has other people who are prepared to learn about the Gospel and who want to do the work of the Lord, they just don't know where to find it yet.

But this last week we have been working with the ward to find a house and while we still haven't gotten one for sure, miracles have helped us find some potential places!

Also, there is a new senior missionary couple here for welfare and they are super cool! I'll try and get a picture with them next week! They are in our ward that we get to keep and they are from California! But they are cool.

Week 94: Well, long but good week

So while this week felt very long it was also very good. There was a cold front that had been hitting us for a while and with a wind chill it was pretty chilli but now we are in the normal January Juchitan weather, or better known as WAYYY TOOOO HOOOOTTTTT. Well, it isn't as hot as the coast, why did I want to go out to the coast? Oh yeah, because it is AWESOME!!! But here is awesome as well, because we just had a BAPTISM ON SATUDAY!! His name is roberto. And although he has only been listening to the missionaries for 3ish months, he is SUPER READY. He has been through many trials, but with every single one he has come out on top, and even though for some stuff we had to postpone his baptism, we were able to help him get baptized.

But, this week has been a week of learning and lots of different challanges, trails, and blessings, but also miracles. I have learned so much in my time here in Oaxaca, and I can't wait to keep learrning! Not just here, but also for the rest of my life!

Anyways, I got some questions from the Bacon Family (shout-out to them for 1 writing me, and 2 have arguable the best last name known to mankind) and so I'll put the questions on here so everyone can see the answers I put, and if there are other questions feel free to ask!

• Q: If you have learned a different language, what is it? 
• A: Well, the language is Spanish, and it is an awesome language.
• Q: How many families are you currently teaching? 
• A: Well complete families like everyone in the family is listening to us probably like 4 or 5 but we have a lot of investigators that are just like a brother and a sister or an older married couple or a single brother, so in all we have about 14 investigators that are more or less progressing, and keeping their commitments.
• Q: Who was your favorite companion, and where were they from? 
• A: Definitly Elder Johnson. I trained him and we had a lot of success and a BLAST. And well he is from Provo, but I get along well with my mexican companions as well, I just got along best with him.
• Q: What weird food have you eaten lately? 
• A: Well last night I almost ate iguana. But we had already eaten twice and there was no space... But I had a soup with bugs in it! Extra protien!
• Q: What are your post-mission plans? 
• A : Well lots of stuff, such as study a lot, work a lot, be awesome, help my friends that are at home, date, well I could go on, but I'm focussing now in the stuff I have to do here, because I don't have a lot more time here, but don't tell anyone here that, they think I have a bit more than a year. I mean 22 months is just a little bit more than a year. (Time is relative right)
• Q: Do you or your companion know how to play the piano? If so, what's your favorite song? 
• A: No, but I am learning. I can play 2 hymns right now so I would say We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet.
• Q: You or your companion good cooks? 
• A: Yes, but we don't have a lot of time....
• Q: How many people have you seen join the church on your mission? 
• A: Well, I couldn't count all of the people I have seen and helped in some way join the church because I don't see how far my reach goes. But I do know that the Lord has sent me here for a reason, and that is to invite all to come unto Christ. And until I can sucessfully say I have invited ALL, I still have work to do. Week 93: Well... Bye bye Verkler... :(

So on Saturday, we had special changes and Elder Verkler left to be the assistant! So now I am leading the area and TOTALLY getting lost. But it is fun. Now I am with Elder Olsen! Another American and we get along well so that is good. He brought a dart board so we are having fun with that.

Anyways, the pictures are of a water pong activity we did with the District leaders and some of our investigators. Roberto is in the picture with the both of us, and he is getting baptized soon. And Axle cut his hand open so we took a picture of him. He is just a kid, but his siblings will also get baptized soon! He is only 7 but in 3 months he turns 8 and he is also excited to be able to be baptized relatively soon!

Well, there really isn't much more to tell for now... I hope that y'all are all having a great time! And well this last week I got a taste of my own medicine... The mission secretary called me and asked what airport I want to g


o to. XP Well all good things come to an end, but the really great ones don't, so while I may not be here in Oaxaca too much longer, I do have a lot of work that is for me to do yet in the work of the Lord.

Week 92: Lots of divisions...

Well, no pictures this week... I did do 2 days straight of exchanges, which we call divisions, because well that is the word we use in Spanish. But it was a lot of traveling for my comp and I and it was a bit annoying. But it was really fun! I learned a lot, and I hope I was able to help as well the Elders that I was with.

Also, I have been able to do a lot of fun stuff as zone leader. It is a bit stressful at times. But we are having fun. We had a baptism planned but we had to push it back for 2 weeks but we have others as well for 2 weeks from now. We are trying to get 8 this month, and 25 as a zone. It is a large increase from last month, but definitely a possibility. But as a zone, we have been trying to increase our new investigators so that everything can keep going uphill.

But we didn't have a lot of time today, so I gtg.... Talk to you next week

Week 91: Well, I don't even know where to begin...

So, I'll start out with the pictures and then go from there... First off. Two missionaries left their mattresses and wooden bedframes on the roof of their house and well Mexican fireworks and wood don't mix together well.... That is the aftermath....

Then, WINDMILLS AND A BUNCH OF THEM!!! I did divisions with a trainer to help him learn a few things and where he is there is a huge wind farm! It is cool!

Also, we had a baptism! He is just a little 10-year-old kid, but he has a lot of faith and wants to stay strong in the church. His parents aren't members yet, but his aunt and uncle are and he has been living with them.

And look at that amazing hammock that an Elder bought. His name is Elder Soldani and his hammock is like the new thing here in Juchitán.

Anyways, this week has been good, but this coming week will be even better. We have lots of divisions planned and we will be out and about helping EVERYONE! We have gotten 7 news both weeks for the last 2 weeks but we think we can do better. We also have another baptism this next week and hopefully one more the week after that. We are trying, but we just need to show a bit more faith, and I am sure the Lord will provide.

But, this last week we found someone with 600+ notes on the first like 1000 pages of the bible. I learned a lot from him and my companion in that lesson, and I am determined to edify my studies, as well as my faith. So, those are part of my new year's resolutions, now I want to challenge




y'all to make your own! And just in general try to find something to better yourself in! Because that is really the goal of the gospel. So we should all do it!

Week 90: Well, being a zone leader is interesting...

So, I am starting to get a handle of what is what here in Juchitán, and while it is an interesting place, we are having the most success in the whole mission as a zone! Well, that is because Elder Verkler my comp is an awesome missionary, but I'll keep it going with him! Anyways, lots of pictures this week....

So the pictures range from Awkward mirror selfie, to What happens when we get to the activity on time and we start late (like an hour late) (that is me

in a chair with my sunglasses being SUPER BORED because no one got there on time), to Jose Luis's baptism! to a Burned Mototaxi on a small building, to a chimpanzee... Yes, a chimpanzee... While we were contacting, we saw someone's pet chimpanzee... And for 2 activities this week I dressed up as Santa Claus!

Anyway, first off, Tuesday was fun, I went to one district meeting while my comp went to another and we had a really good training from a new district leader. Wednesday we found the chimpanzee contacting, Thursday we had Jose Luis's baptism. He is the boyfriend of a member and he has been attending for almost a year, but he finally has felt comfortable enough to make the decision to get baptized. He is a bit shy but really cool. Friday we had the ward activity, well one of our wards, we are working 2 and well, I got to be Santa! And then I borrowed the Santa outfit for Saturday where we had another activity but a multizone activity for all the missionaries. I was also Santa, I met President Conde's daughters and son's in law, and I played the sax. Yesterday we had 7 investigators at church, and we have 2 more baptism dates next week! Wow. This week has been productive. AND THIS NEXT WEEK WILL BE EVEN MORE SO!!! WOOHOOO!!!!! H.O.O.R.A.H.!!!

Dear Loosle Family:

This letter is to inform you that your son, Elder Loosle, has been called to serve as a Zone Leader here in the Mexico Oaxaca Mission. He has the responsibility to teach, take care of, inspire and edify the missionaries in his zone. His service has qualified him for this responsibility.

There are high expectations for your son in this new assignment. A Zone Leader must be an example to his zone in every aspect: for example, the work in his own area, his personal worthiness and his obedience to the Lord. The missionaries in his zone will follow him and I trust that your son will be a great example to them.

Your son will teach the missionaries and district leaders in his zone monthly. He’ll meet monthly with the Stake President/ District President and, sometimes, with the Bishops/Branch Presidents to coordinate and improve missionary work in his zone.

I’m sure your son will inspire his zone to follow the Lord and to fulfill the high standards that He expects of them as His representatives.

Week 89: Well... Adiós Huajuapan, Hello JUCHITÁN!

So, I had transferred. I am very happy that my companion has made Christmas plans! And we have the Christmas activity on this coming Saturday so that will be fun!!! But I am tired because I have traveled 9 hours on Oaxacan roads in the last 2 days so I think I will sleep well tonight. It is weird being a missionary just all of the sudden picking up all your stuff and leaving to another place, living with people you have never met, and just leaving any friends you have made behind. But, it is ok, because I have gotten used to it now and I know it will not be terribly long before I see them again.

But, I am SUPER EXCITED for Christmas! In the Istmo there is not a lot of Christmassy stuff, but that doesn't mean that I can't be excited and happy about it! So, I will do everything I can to help everyone get excited!

Next week I'll have more time and pictures because I will be on my normal schedule and not just finishing a terrible bus ride. Well, actually the ride in the suburban from Huajuapan to Oaxaca was a lot worse than from Oaxaca to Juchitán because on the first I got thrown up on...  Elder Ellsworth was sick starting Sunday morning, so he threw up at church and then on the ride to Oaxaca... I hope he made it to the coast ok...

But I hope y'all are having a great day and doing everything that you need to!

Week 88: Well... REALLY LATE LETTER... :P

Well, today we were waiting for like 2 hours to get some metal bed frames... We actually just got them, and then came really quick here to finish our writing. So that was sad. But besides that, it was a fun Pday! We made some stuffed gingerbread men plush thingies! There is a picture of one that I got to keep! We made a lot of small ones for kids as a service project! And we got to make a bigger one for each of us!

The other pictures of a field that we played on today, we left SUPER early to play so that there would not be anyone there and we wouldn't get burned, and it was FREEZING. But fun. And the last is of some keychains that I bought while I was in downtown Oaxaca last week for the zone conference. If you want to ask why the pineapple and the mango, well ask a return missionary that served in Mexico.

But this week we had a zone conference that was really good! We talked about realistic goals, and I realized that we need to always keep in mind the end. And also how we can use the members to help us. I learned a lot and afterward


, I had an interview with President, and he gave me permission to go to the temple with my first convert! His name is Paco, and while he is only a teenager still, he is going to the temple every 2 months to do baptisms for the dead! And so I think President wants me to finish my mission here in Huajuapan which would be fine with me. But if not, we will know next week! :D

Anyways, I hope that you all have a great week and are SUPER EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS LIKE I AM! Just always remember the reason for the season! Let's put more focus on our Savior and how we can help others, instead of what they can give to us! :)

Week 87: Well... Today we climbed a mountain...

So, today for Pday we climbed a mountain! That was fun! I took lots of pictures from on top as well as one from below so you could see the mountain! We went with some ward members so that we could get to the mountain and follow the trail, but we ended up just ditching the trail for a while and going straight up the forest area. It was fun. We made it to the top, but the members who took the trail beat us XD But we had fun as well.

Also, the other picture is of a little bat-like object I found in a recent converts house... It says part of Hebrews 12:5 and  says

My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

Well, it is an interesting scripture to put on an object of that kind... But it is ok, it was funny seeing it.

Anyways, this week has been interesting. We were able to get a lot of new investigators but the ones we have almost stopped progressing... It is kinda sad, but we do have to keep on helping other people and so sometimes we have to stop visiting some people in order to help others because there are only 2 of us, and like 60,000 + people that we need to visit. So, we are gonna keep working hard and show the Lord that we are willing to do whatever it takes to help people!

Week 86: Happy Thanksgiving! Well, belated...

Well, my Thanksgiving was probably a lot less cool than y'all's but the good news is that on Sunday we had a baptism! I mean I baptised her, but IDK why because she is a 8 year old girl who is the daughter of members. Well her mom is a member and her parents are separated, so there isn't anyone with the priesthood in her house. But it was fun. Also, church was very interesting on Sunday. But we weren't able to get many investigators to church. But this week we will do A LOT to get more investigators and to get A LOT to church. We have big plans.

Speaking of big plans that is one of the pictures! Well it says PONTE LAS PILAS!!! Which is a saying that I like, it means like GET PUMPED! Or something like that. I like it because I like to help people get excited to share the gospel and help us out a bit!

But, I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I will!
